ERCI – the European Railway Clusters Initiative – includes 11 research and innovation driven railway technology clusters from 9 countries. It represents over 1,000 SMEs and aims to promote innovation and the development of new business opportunities as a means of sustainably bolstering competitiveness within the European railway industry. ERCI fosters collaboration between industry and research, initiates innovation projects and organises B2B meetings and workshops. This also includes the promotion of good visibility and networking at EU level.
Therefor the 2018 ERCI Innovation Awards are intended to promote innovations implemented by enterprises to meet the needs of the railway sector in Europe (freight and passengers). The awarding ceremony takes place within the scope of the InnoTrans 2018.
