At the Railway Cluster of Sweden, we believe in the power of innovation and technology to drive sustainable development in the railway industry.
By working to increase collaboration between international railway clusters, member companies, universities, and research institutions, we aim to promote research and development of new, sustainable railway technologies and solutions. In this endeavor, we lead and participate in various business promotion projects. The projects we are currently involved in are listed below.
The railway industry as a driving force for climate-resilient infrastructure.
With financial support from Tillväxtverket and Region Västmanland, we kickstarted the project in June 2021 under the name "The Railway Industry as a Driving Force for Climate-Secure Infrastructure." Our journey with this project extends until October 2023, during which we have worked intensively with the goal of contributing to the winds of change regarding climate-resilient railway investments. Here, we set the tone for future infrastructure with a focus on the environment. The foundation of the project was laid in the aftermath of the pandemic, which clearly shook the industry. In the project, we work on initiatives related to:
- Internationalization, ERCI - European Railway Cluster Initiative.
- RTIC - Railway Test and Innovation Centre with the purpose of developing innovation and innovation management in collaboration with the physical test environment at the Tortuna track.
- Enhancing collaboration between policy and business for transition.
- Competence development
